The CTC S-8 Series Store Coupon is a continuation of the S-7 series but with the two new signatures of Douglas Heuman and Dean Groussman.
The issue was released early in 1987 but still used the 1985 plates. The serial numbers continue on from the S-7 series. There are no replacement coupons identified in this series.
On some of these coupons the centre of the letter "C" in the word "Société" in the bottom border is WHITE or PLUGGED. This variety was sporadically intermixed throughput the issue. The the 10¢ BY prefix range has an identifiable white/plugged range of coupons, (as well as an intermixed range and a 'standard/normal' range).
A range of 10¢ BY coupons [6,605,000-7,004,999] was printed with left over S-7 plates & signatures and issued as S-7's
The S-8 issue was replaced later in 1987 by the S-9 series which used new plates modifying the date and adding the "Property of Canadian Tire Corporation Limited" disclaimer on the reverse.
